Springfit

On 21st & 22nd November 2008, Springfit club held class displays for friends and parents of class members at Oakwood Sports Centre, Horley.
The displays are arranged twice a year to showcase gymnasts’ progress and perform entertaining routines to music. New skills that children are learning in their classes were highlighted with individual performances and group routines.
Those attending were delighted with the fast-paced displays and attention to individual children offered by the coaches of each class.
Each and every child was recognised for their excellent progress made in just 6 months, and coaches rewarded one member of each class with a progress medal, to the child they considered to have shown the most effort and enthusiasm for gymnastics. The class displays are a great way of helping the gymnasts get used to performing for a crowd, and provides the parents in attendance with a great deal of pride.

From 2009, the Association of Saturn V clubs will be restructuring biannual class displays into “parents sit-ins”, and hold a more visually entertaining “Club Display” once a year, starting with 18th July 2009 at de Stafford Sports Cente, Caterham.

Saturn V Association of Gymnastics and Trampoline clubs held yet another successful Floor and Vault Competition on Sunday 23rd November 2008, at de Stafford Sports Centre, Caterham, home of Pointers Gymnastics and Trampoline Club.

Springfit and Pointers came together and amazed their parents with their new and improved floor and vaulting skills from handspring vaults to back flips and back somersaults across the floor. Judges Paul and Shirley Kaye said they were very thrilled with the high standard the gymnasts brought to the competition this time.

Pictured below are some of the gymnasts who entered in the Floor and Vault competition and the medal winners from each category. Bronze, silver and gold for U9 and bronze, silver and gold for 10 plus.
